I am on my way to yet another training class. I am tired of these but i always learn so much (and they are free) so I keep going. I get to Pasadena a little early and I'm hungry. Hmmmm, what to eat what to eat I just can't decide. I see James Coney Island on Spencer and I have to pull in. Cheese From Above is calling me and I must answer the call.
Ever since the JCI closed on Bay Area, I have been severely lacking in my Cheese From Above. I go inside and am very suprised at what I see. The menu here is very different than the other JCI I was used to go.
What are all these different hot dog choices? I am excited now. I could get the Texas Dog, but I just don't like chili on my hot dog. Don't judge me! I don't judge you on the weird stuff you eat. Pork rinds? Honestly? You do realize that is fried pig skin right? Great I just threw up a little into my mouth...moving on!
So I finally narrow my choice to the Chicago Dog. Pickle spear, relish, tomato, (NO ONIONS PUNK! YOU PUT ONIONS ON THERE AND I WILL FRY YOUR ANIMALS) and cheese on a black poppyseed bun. Do I want cheese on my fries? Does the sun rise? Is Lindsey Lohan crazy?
I sit down with my root beer and start with the fries. You can't mess up shoestring cheese fries right? Luckily they didn't mess them up either. They weren't awesome, but they weren't bad either.
The dog was the next thing to try. The relish was some alien green color so got a little scared to try it. I closed my eyes and just bit in. OOOOOOOO the dog was good. Even the alien relish was good too. The solid pickle spear really sold it for me. The dichotomy of the softness of the bun with the crunch of the pickle made for a really good dog. If you are in the area, check this place out. I was there and despite being busy I got my food really quick and they were really nice to me as well.
