Charley's Grilled Subs, Cypress

I need green Crocs.  Ok ok, I know I have 6 pairs of Crocs (light blue, dark blue, red, orange, black, fuzzy black) so I don't NEEEEEEEED one but I want one.

Don't these look soooo cool?  Ok maybe not but I want one when I wear my supa dupa fly green t-shirt.  Anyway, I bought my last 2 pairs at the Crocs Outlet Store in the Cypress Outlet Mall.  It is so far away that you want to drive your car into a ditch right at the moment you reach the correct exit.  Dad, the boys, and I get to the outlet mall and walk around for maybe 5 minutes before I start to hear a familiar chant...

"DAAAAAAAAAAAAAADDY  I HUNGEEEEEEEEEE"

Um, ok Colin.  Nicholas is hungry too and is almost as dramatic.  He tells me, "Daddy, I am staaaaarving!  I haven't eaten in like 1 million days."  Now, we get to the mall at 11am, left the house at 10am, and HAD BREAKFAST at 9am.  I am going to have to start working the pole soon so I can feed these monsters.  Time for sit-ups!

So we go to the food court and dad suggests Charley's Grilled Subs because there is a cute girl giving away free samples.  Nicholas loves the sample they give us so we agree to go here.  They also have a kid's menu which makes it easier to order for Colin as well.

I am not hungry (going on a starvation diet so I can be in pole shape sooner), but am super thirsty.  Good thing I didn't eat either.  For dad, Colin, and Nicholas, and my drink, the bill was almost 30 bucks!  This food better be made by either a super hot woman or a D list celebrity.  Unfortunately, it was made by a couple of regular dudes.  Oh well.  The drink options were normal except they have a Kiwi Lemonade that I HAVE to try.  It fits in with my green theme I had planned for the day.  I am even wearing green shorts so I can wear my new Crocs out.  I got a large and drank that thing in like 5 seconds.  I have already had a refill by the time our food is ready.  The fruits really blended together well, but you could still taste each of them individually.  It also wasn't as acidic as you would expect most lemonades to it was very easy to drink and went down very smooth.

Colin is sitting in his chair and has recently decided that he wants to dip everything in ketchup.  Not sure where that came from, since I am more of a mustard guy myself.  So he gets his own little ketchup thing for his fries and chicken strips.  He eats about half before he stops and says he's full.  I take a bite of his strip and that chicken was really good.  Not spicy, but flavorful.  Not dry, but not undercooked as well.  I was pretty impressed.

When dad ordered his sub, the girl checking us out asked him if he wanted chili and cheese.  Dad and I thought she meant on the sub, but apparently she meant on the fries.  Now, I am never one to knock chili and cheese on fries, but looking at the receipt later, adding those things doubled the price of the fries.  When ordering, make sure you pay attention.  The food court there is really loud and if you aren't paying close attention then you may get charged for something you may not want.  Either way, the chili cheese fries were really really good so for us, it was a very yummy mistake.

The sub, a Chicken Buffalo Sub, was pretty good.  Not sure why, but the first bite was better than the rest of the bites.  It wasn't spicy either like you would expect something with buffalo sauce to be.  Nicholas liked his but still didn't finish it.  He said he was full but when I asked him again he said that after a while he didn't like it anymore.  I took a bite and it was pretty good, but nothing to write home about.  Hmmm, maybe I should use another analogy since I am actually writing about it...Oh well, it is hard to think of witty analogies when this is on the TV right now:

Anyway, if you are up there, then check the place out.  The prices are high, but that's almost expected in a mall food court.  What about my Great Crocs Adventure?  Well, there were no dude shoes in the clearance bin but I did manage to buy some green crocs...for Nicholas.  Maybe I will just find some on eBay...

As always, please leave me your comments.  I look forward to hearing from you!  If you have any places you'd like me to check out, just post them in the comments as well and I would be happy to visit.  Have a great week!
