I'm driving home from work and I need some ice cream. Not just regular ice cream, but I need a Cup of Dirt. For those of you who don't know what that is, it's vanilla ice cream , crushed Oreos, chocolate sprinkles, and Gummy Worms. Yes, it looks like a Cup of Dirt but it tastes DELICIOUS!!
Marble Slab wouldn't make one for me and neither would Baskin Robbins, so I went to Ben and Jerry's on Bay Area Blvd in Webster. I walk in and the smell of waffle cones is alluring and enticing. No wonder we are among the fattest cities in the fattest country in the world. I don't care, it smells good and I am on a mission.
Wow these flavors look good. They have many different kinds of flavors and combinations, but when I ask for my dirt, the kid behind the counter looked at me like I asked for a reach-around, not ice cream. I explain what it is, and he says he can make it. YES!!!
Boy: "But there is a tiny problem..."
Me (internally): "NOOOOOOOOOOO!"
Me (externally): What is it?
Boy: We don't have Gummy Worms.
Me: That is a problem.
Boy: I have Gummy Bears is that ok?
Me (smiling): That's cool. Let's bury some bears.
The morale of the story? Even if something is not on the menu, if you ask politely enough, someone probably can help you out. Ben and Jerry's prices are comparable to Baskin Robbins and Marble Slab, but I prefer these guys because of the service. If you're not sure where it is: here is the address so you can put it into your GPS. If you don't have GPS...then it's 2010 and you can get a bunch for under a hundy. Suck it up so you don't have to print out directions ever again.
