It's been a long week and we want to sit down and have a nice and relaxing dinner. We want Italian, but I'm tired of Zio's and Olive Garden so we turn to the third Italian restaurant on Bay Area Blvd: Carrabba's Italian Grill in the restaurant mecca of Webster.
We get there around 4:45pm and sit down and instantly am greeted with a friendly person who takes me to my seat. The place is mostly empty, so we get a nice, quaint table by the windows.
We aren't too hungry, but everything on the menu looks amazing. We decide to order an appitizer as we decide what we want to eat. Zucchini Frite you say? I say BRING IT ON! I am always willing to try anything fried.

Holy cow that looks good. It is zucchini...cut like french fries...then fried...served with a roasted garlic dipping sauce. Um yeah you can imagine those were gone quick. As we were enjoying the zucchini fries, we decide to split an Insalata Johnny Rocco. Sarah had this one time when she was working for her old company and they took a client out for lunch. Sounds like a good balance to me: fried stuff then salad to even everything out.
This salad has grilled shrimp and scallops, roasted red peppers, olives and ricotta salata cheese in vinaigrette, then topped with some freshly grated cheese.
You can bet it was amazing. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, and the vinaigrette did not overpower the salad like at most places. Everything worked together to present a united front of tastiness.
Since we are sharing the salad, Sarah and I decide to get a Margherita Pizza as well and split it as well. I will be corny here for a minute and say that I am really having a great time with Sarah at this point in time. We are coming off a very stressful week at work and after not spending hardly any time together, it was nice to sit in a romantic corner and share a very romantic meal. I was glowing like a little school girl, which is how I sound right now so BACK TO THE FOOD MAN!!!!!
MMMM...pizza make Don happy! Margherita Pizza is one of my favorite kinds of pizza. I have tried it at nearly every place I go that serves pizza. Star Pizza has the best, Bob's Pizza and Terds has the worst. I have to say that this pizza was incredible. It was almost as good as Star Pizza. The only thing that lets Star keep its crown is the crust. The crust here was good, but Star puts crack or something in their crust that makes it just a teeny-tiny bit better that this.
We are feeling very saucy, so we go ahead and order dessert. They have this thing called a Bacino, or "little kisses" which is basically small samples of some of their desserts. We decide to get the 3 pack and get Tiramisu, Songo di Cioccolata (Chocolate Song), and a pistachio thingy that I forgot the name.
The tiramisu was delicious as well. Not to liquory, and not too sweet either. I really enjoyed this one a lot.
These were pretty good as well, but not as good as the tiramisu. Sarah and I were sharing these as well, and I didn't finish mine of either one. I did finish my part of the tiramisu though...
Overall, I would say my trip to Carrabba's was a resounding success. Great food, great atmosphere and great company. Who knows when will be the next time we will sit down and have a nice romantic meal together so this meal will be something I will remember for a while. I'm glad I have the pictures to remember it.
